Without understanding how to correctly set up QuickBooks, a person can easily end up with inaccurate reporting, the inability to reconcile accounts, and, frankly, a mess that has you pulling out your hair trying to untangle it all. You never truly know if your business is making a profit or not. Sure, you know how much is in your bank account and your credit card debt, but do you know the financial health of your business? 

I get it. That's how my journey began as an entrepreneur running my own business. I was passionate about my product, but the terms, "balance sheet," and "profit and loss" were a mystery to me. I was totally dependent on my bookkeeper and accountant to tell me how my business was doing financially.  Once I realized that the only way to know the health of your business is to understand your financial reports, I did the work to learn the basics of cash flow and financial statements that every business owner should know. 

I understood that accurate financial reports were essential to making business decisions, and, that reconciliation was the only way to have confidence that the financial reports were accurate. I knew that doing something myself was the best way for me to truly understand it, so, I took the next step and dug in to learn QuickBooks Online, consulting with my accountant to make sure to set it up correctly. I now understood the critical importance of knowing my numbers at all times. 

Once I understood the bookkeeping process, I did not want to continue spending hours updating QuickBooks, and, yet, I did not have the funds to hire a bookkeeper. What could I do? Thanks to technology, there was a solution.

I strategically selected software and systems that integrated with QuickBooks Online to implement automation where possible.  After much trial and error, I created a system that made updates and reconciliation easy to do in minutes a day. With an integrated system in place, I could generate accurate financial reports with the click of a button when I needed them. (Bonus! My reports were ready for my tax preparer without additional end-of-the-year stress.)

Fast forward to today. 

I love helping fellow business owners set up online systems and streamline their business with automation.
